Post Oak Baptist Church began with Post Oak School, which was located on the grounds of the current site. The Baptists and Methodists of the Post Oak Community got together and decided to have combined services at the schoolhouse in 1929. Two years later, the city of Ozark consolodated the school in with the Ozark City School system. The Baptists purchased the school house and began Post Oak Baptist Church on August 30th, 1931. They later joined the Dale Baptist Association.
The church grew until a new sanctuary had to be built & expanded many times in the last 75 years. Our most recent additions were an expansion of the Fellowship Hall, and remodeling of the sanctuary, in 2000, and the implementation of video projection capabilities in the Sanctuary just a few years ago.
Many changes have been made to the surface of Post Oak, but the heart of Post Oak is the same as always - to serve the Lord and reach the lost, as we have been commissioned to do. Matthew 28:18-20.
We invite you to become a part of the church today and a piece of its history tomorrow.
